This notice explains how www.goddardaccountants.co.uk, operated by Goddard Accounting Limited, uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Notice.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, keep it secure and, where you allow it, tell us how it is being used. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in much the same way and are covered by this notice.
2. How we use cookies
We only set cookies that are strictly necessary without asking you. For everything else, we ask for your consent through the cookie banner when you first visit, and you can change your mind at any time.
Strictly necessary cookies keep the website secure, make forms and pages work, and remember your cookie choices. We do not need your consent for these and they cannot be switched off.
Analytics cookies tell us how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us, so we can improve the site. Information is aggregated. These are only set if you accept.
Marketing cookies are used to measure or target advertising. These are only set if you accept.
3. Cookies on this website
Our website is built on Squarespace, which sets its own cookies. Squarespace publishes a full list on its website, called "The cookies Squarespace uses" (https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001264507-The-cookies-Squarespace-uses). The ones most likely to be set on our website are described below.
Strictly necessary cookies
The "Crumb" cookie protects the site and its forms against cross-site request forgery. It lasts for the length of your visit.
The "_ssid" cookie remembers devices for anti-fraud purposes. It lasts four years.
The "ss_performancecookiesAllowed" and "ss_marketingcookiesAllowed" cookies record whether you have accepted performance and analytics cookies, or marketing cookies, through our cookie banner. Each lasts 30 days.
The "SS_HAS_LANDED" item, kept in your browser’s local storage, helps Squarespace tell a first visit from a later one. It stays until it is cleared.
The "_dd_cookie_test", "_dd_site_test" and "Test" cookies check that your browser supports cookies and help prevent errors. The first two expire immediately and "Test" lasts for your visit. The "_dd_s" cookie tracks browser errors and lasts four hours.
Depending on the features we use, Squarespace may also set cookies such as "Locked" (keeps a password-protected page open for your visit), "RecentRedirect" (prevents redirect loops and lasts 30 minutes), "squarespace-announcement-bar" and "squarespace-popup-overlay" (stop a banner or pop-up reappearing once you have closed it) and "squarespace-video-player-options" (remembers your video settings). We do not take payments through our website, so Squarespace’s online-shop cookies do not apply.
Analytics and performance cookies (only set if you accept)
The "ss_cid", "ss_cpvisit" and "ss_cvr" cookies identify unique visitors and track their sessions for Squarespace Analytics. Each lasts two years.
The "ss_cvisit" and "ss_cvt" cookies also identify unique visitors and track their sessions. Each lasts 30 minutes.
Our website contains links to our Instagram and LinkedIn profiles. These are links only and do not set cookies on our website. If you click through to either platform, it may set its own cookies and its own privacy and cookie policies will apply. Other cookies set by third parties are controlled by those third parties’ own policies.
4. Managing your choices
Cookie banner: use the banner on your first visit to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.
Changing your mind: you can change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie settings on our website, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the contact form, from working properly. You can find instructions for common browsers at aboutcookies.org.
5. Personal information
Some cookie data, such as IP addresses and online identifiers, counts as personal information. We use it as described in our Privacy Notice, which also explains your rights and how to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
6. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if we change the cookies we use. The latest version is always on our website, with its date shown at the top.
7. Contact us
