2. General information only
The content of this site is provided for general information. It is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice and should not be relied on as such. Tax law, rates, allowances and deadlines change often, and the right answer depends on your circumstances. Please take advice from us or another suitably qualified professional before acting. While we take care to keep the site accurate and current, we do not guarantee that it is complete or up to date.
3. No client relationship from using the site
Using the site, or sending us an enquiry through it, does not make you a client or create a duty of care to you. We act for a client only once we have agreed the scope of work and fees, completed our client and anti-money-laundering checks, and both parties have signed our engagement letter. Enquiries are not guaranteed a response, and please do not send confidential information through the enquiry form.
4. Using the site
You agree to use the site lawfully. In particular, you agree not to try to gain unauthorised access to the site, our systems or other users’ data; not to introduce viruses, malware or harmful code; not to use automated tools to scrape or copy the site in bulk; and not to use the site in a way that is misleading, fraudulent or harms others.
5. Intellectual property
The site and its content, including the text, design, logos, graphics and Goddard Accounting name, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may view the site and print or download extracts for your own personal or internal business use. You may not copy, republish or sell any part of it without our written permission.
6. Links to other sites
The site may link to third-party websites, such as Linked In and Instagram. We provide these links for convenience, do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
7. Availability
We try to keep the site available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice.
8. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the content of the site, or for any loss caused by viruses, interruptions or errors on the site. Where we provide professional services, our liability is governed by the terms of our engagement letter, not by these terms.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the site or our service, please email lewis@goddardaccountants.co.uk. Our complaints procedure can be found in our Standard Terms of Business, which is available on request.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the site at the time you use it is the one that applies to you.
11. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
